Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Decibel Meter mobile application (“the App”) and related website at www.decibelmeterpro.com. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of the service

Decibel Meter provides on-device environmental noise measurement, voice-activated audio recording, video evidence capture with decibel overlays, and local file management. Features may change or be updated over time.

2. Not a certified instrument

The App uses your iPhone’s built-in microphone and is not a certified sound level meter or professional measurement instrument. Decibel readings, reports, and overlays are estimates for personal reference and documentation only. Do not rely on the App for occupational safety compliance, legal proceedings, medical decisions, or any purpose requiring calibrated or certified measurements.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Permissions and device use

Certain features require microphone, camera, location, or background audio access. You may revoke permissions in iOS Settings at any time; some features will not work without them. Background monitoring may increase battery usage.

5. Intellectual property

The App, its design, branding, and documentation are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App. Recordings and data you create remain yours, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

6. Subscriptions (Decibel Meter Premium)

Decibel Meter Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Available plans include Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly. Prices are shown in the App at the time of purchase and may vary by region and tax.

Premium benefits

While your subscription is active, you receive:

Free trial

Eligible new subscribers may receive a 3-day free trial on the Monthly or Yearly plan. You will not be charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the App Store for the plan you selected. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited to one offer per subscription group or Apple ID.

Auto-renewal and billing

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period or trial period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current price.

Cancellation

You can cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Decibel Meter on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Premium access until that period ends.

Restore purchases

If you reinstall the App or use a new device signed into the same Apple ID, tap Restore Purchases in the App. Restoration is handled by Apple’s App Store; we do not operate a separate account system.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to App Store policies. If Apple approves a refund, Premium access may be revoked when the App next verifies entitlements with the App Store.

Legacy Remove Ads purchase

The App may also offer a legacy one-time Remove Ads purchase (com.decibelpro.removeads.lifetime). That purchase removes advertising only and does not unlock Premium recording limits, video limits, or AI filters. An active Premium subscription also removes ads and includes all Premium features.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or error-free performance.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. App Store terms

If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
